Bette Midler’s performance of “Wind Beneath My Wings” was an absolute Oscar show highlight
Bette Midler got a standing ovation after her performance of Wind Beneath My Wings on the Oscars last night.
In watching the performance again, it’s easy to see why: she’s a great star who knows how to belt out one helluva number. Her stage presence, her hand gestures, her uniqueness.
I’m just crazy about her and about this performance. Below is a pre-show chat she had with CNN’s Piers Morgan.

To give dramatic effect we, the audience, were told not to applaud during the tributes and when Bette came out…as usual some idiots clapped and sorta ruined it for everybody else. Bette was absolute total perfection. I hate to say it but I have to put her ahead of Barbara now days. Her comments after the song were priceless…to bad the tv audience did not get to hear them.

Jad what did Bette say after her wonderful performance? I have watched it several times & she is absolutely the best. And I agree Bette is ahead of Barbra. And I was a Barbra fan before I was a fan of Bette’s. Bette is my all-time favorite and is perfection!!
