Barbra Streisand announces US summer tour and new album of Broadway showtunes!

Babs is back! Not that the legendary Barbra Streisand has ever really gone away in more than 50 years of superstardom.

The multiple Oscar, Grammy and Emmy winner announced on today that she is returning to the concert stage this summer for the first time in four years.

It will be a mini-tour of nine US cities kicking off in Los Angeles with stops Las Vegas, Chicago, Brooklyn, Boston, Washington DC, Toronto, San Jose and Philadelphia.

Streisand will perform her hits from each decade plus songs from her forthcoming new album, ENCORE: Movie Partners Sing Broadway to be released later this year, according to her official website.

At 74, Streisand seems poised for a highly-productive period in her performing career.

Her long-planned remake of the musical Gypsy with her playing Mama Rose is back on track and expected to begin production by the end of the year.

She has made relatively few movies in the last few decades with the most recent being 2012’s The Guilt Trip.

But the albums have never stopped coming and she is the only artist in history to have a number one album in each of the past six decades.
