Barbara Walters picks Caitlyn Jenner as ‘Most Fascinating Person of 2015’
Caitlyn Jenner may not have sat down for an interview with her but that didn’t stop Barbara Walters from naming her the ‘Most Fascinating Person of 2015.’
Walters, 86, made the announcement at the end of her annual ABC special which aired on Thursday shining a spotlight on who she believes are the 10 most fascinating people of the year.
‘I’m both humbled and honored,’ Jenner said via Twitter of the Walters honor.
The creator of TV’s The View said of the honoree: ‘When Bruce Jenner became Caitlyn Jenner, there was a seismic shift in the gender universe. … Famous and familiar, she raised awareness and acceptance of transgender people. Through her own transformation, Caitlyn Jenner transformed society this year, and that for us, makes her the most fascinating person of 2015.’
Walters has had a 50-plus years career of landing big interviews but Jenner gave an exclusive announcing he is transgender to Walters’ ABC News colleague Diane Sawyer earlier this year. She is also scheduled to do an update with Sawyer next year.
Others in this year’s top 10 who did sit down with Walters included Donald Trump, Bernie Sanders, Bradley Cooper, Amy Schumer, ballerina Misty Copeland and Tracy Morgan.
In previous years, Walters has named such people as Jackie Onassis, Princess Diana and Hillary Clinton as Most Fascinating.

Republican hypocrite Caitlyn Jenner isn’t fascinating, she is the example of how socio economic status can influence your political leanings. As usual, the republican hypocrite takes advantage of ALL the gains liberals fought for while voting for the party that wants us all back in the closet or in reparative therapy.
Intelligence is not your strong suit Caitlyn.

I tried to be open minded about Caitlyn Jenner, but her continued support of the Republican party has completely turned me off at this point. Hell, I can’t even stomach the Log Cabin Republicans. Why should she be any different. Her ideology is stuck in her brain like a religion, avoiding reality. Adios, Cailtyn!
