Awards Central: WGA & DGA TV noms announced; Golden Globes fashion, analysis and TV ratings

Awards season is in absolute full gallop and to keep up with it all, I’m going to be doing an Awards Central post several times a week. I hope you find it useful.

Last night’s Golden Globes were fun, as always, although having Ricky Gervais back as a host virtually no one enjoys was a head-scratcher. This really needs to be the last time. If the Hollywood Foreign Press Association can’t settle on a host or hosts, this is a show that had gone hostless for many years and no one cared. It did not matter.

I loved Kate McKinnon’s comments introducing Ellen DeGeneres even more than Ellen’s actual speech, think Brad Pitt is the most breathtaking movie star on the planet, and was beyond thrilled with the wins for 1917 and Parasite which are my top two films of 2019 – hands down.
