At last, Novak Djokovic wins French Open

Now he really, truly is an all-time great and if he keeps this up for a few more years, Novak Djokovic could become the greatest of all time.
The man who once played in the considerable shadows of Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal won his first French Open title today over Andy Murray in four sets.
Djokovic had been runner-up in Paris three times but has now filled that hole in a resume that includes six Australian Opens, three Wimbledons, and two US Opens.
He is now tied with Roy Emerson on the all-time list with 12 grand slam titles behind only Nadal and Pete Sampres (14) and Federer (17).
He also joins Federer, Nadal, Andre Agassi, Rod Laver and Don Budge as the only men to have all four grand slam titles at least once in their career.
Djokovic also becomes the first man since Laver in 1969 to hold all four grand slam titles consecutively.
He said the the crowd after: ‘It’s a special moment, perhaps the biggest of my career today.’

FAEN says:
Novak played beautifully and deserved to win but kudos to Murray for getting to the RG final. Murray IMHO is in tennis terms due for another win at the majors.

Novak also at present holds all four Grand Slam titles (as far as I’m concerned, a Grand Slam even if they weren’t in a calendar year, they are consecutive), something that neither Nadal nor Federer has achieved (yet).
