Andy Murray ends 2016 with 24-match winning streak and with number one ranking in men’s tennis

The last time anyone other than Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal or Novak Djokovic finished the year as the number one player in the world was way back in 2003 when Andy Roddick held the ranking. Now it’s another Andy’s turn. At the ATP World Tour Finals in London, Andy Murray secured the year-end ranking with a 6-3, 6-4 win over Djokovic. This is no small feat no small feat in an era of historic greats. Murray ends the beat year of his career on a 24-match winning streak and nine tournament victories including his second Wimbledon and Olympic titles.
