Andy Cohen loves being famous more than anyone

There’s no doubt about it, Andy Cohen loves being famous.

He loves it more than any of his famous BFFs like Anderson Cooper, Sarah Jessica Parker, Kelly Ripa and John Mayer.

When Cooper told Cohen that he enjoyed being famous more than anyone else he knows, the Watch What Happens Live host was a bit offended.

But the more he thought about it and analyzed what Cooper was saying, he realized it was absolutely true.

‘I became famous after the age of 40 after I’d lived in New York City for like 20 years,’ Cohen tells NBC’s The Today Show.

Cohen, 49, worked for years as a producer for CBS News in New York then became an executive at the cable channel Bravo during its early days.

Then came Bravo’s Real Housewives franchise and Cohen’s web series which eventually became a nightly talk show where he has welcomed such guests as Oprah Winfrey, Cher and Lady Gaga.

The exposure has made him recognizable all around Manhattan.

‘I want you to imagine being in New York then all of a sudden people are giving you things or you can get into restaurants that you never could – they are just treating you better,’ he says.

‘So if that’s what (Anderson) means the I think (he’s) right. Because I do really like it.’

Cohen just released a second volume of diaries titled Superficial: More Adventures from the Andy Cohen Diaries. It details two years of his life spent with very famous people as a very famous person himself.
