“And Just Like That …” ending after season 3

I am not happy about this news: HBO Max has announced that And Just Like That …, the continuation of the Sex and the City franchise, will end after its third and current season. There will be a total of 12 episodes for season three – two more than previously announced.

The two-part series finale will Thursday, Aug. 7 and 14.

“And just like that… the ongoing storytelling of the Sex and the City universe is coming to an end,” Michael Patrick King said in a statement Friday. “While I was writing the last episode of And Just Like That… Season 3, it became clear to me that this might be a wonderful place to stop. Along with Sarah Jessica Parker, Casey Bloys and Sarah Aubrey, we decided to end the popular series this year with a two-part finale and extended the original series order from 10 episodes to 12. SJP and I held off announcing the news until now because we didn’t want the word ‘final’ to overshadow the fun of watching the season. It’s with great gratitude we thank all the viewers who have let these characters into their homes and their hearts over these many years.”

The series really found its footing this season and I’ve been enjoying more than ever before. The character of Carrie (Sarah Jessica Parker) in particular had such growth and maturity and I did want to spend more time with her.

Enjoyed last night’s episode so much and, if it has to end, I like where Carrie is at.
