Alec Baldwin has gay hairdresser tell reporters he’s not a homophobe – Anderson Cooper weighs in
Alec Baldwin is really in the dog house for calling a photographer a “cocksucking fag” yesterday.
It brings out the debate over whether this gay slur is as bad as the n-word which basically ruined Paula Deen’s career.
Alec has tried to engage in some clumsy damage control including a bizarre scene this morning when he brought out his gay hairdresser to vouch for him in front of a group of reporters in New York City.
‘Am I a homophobe?’ Baldwin asked the man, who was not identified.
‘Yes, bigtime,’ the hairdresser jokingly replied.
Later, the man told TMZ: ‘I don’t think he’s homophobic. I don’t at all. Whenever he is in here, we are always talking and cutting hair. He booked an appointment for today, he always does and he is a good tipper.’
So what did the hairdresser make of Baldwin using a gay slur during a confrontation this week with a photographer he felt got too close to his wife and child?
‘If he did say it … there was probably a good reason behind why.’
Baldwin earlier this year called a journalist a ‘toxic queen’ and worked with GLAAD to repair the PR damage.
This time, GLAAD has lost patience with the actor saying he can’t claim to be an LGBTI supporter and continue to use slurs.
CNN anchor Anderson Cooper, meanwhile, ridiculed Baldwin on Twitter for trying to say he called the photographer a ‘cocksucking fathead’ when TMZ cameras clearly caught him using the slur.
‘Wow, Alec Baldwin shows his true colors yet again,’ Cooper wrote early Friday. ‘How is he going to lie and excuse his anti-gay slurs this time?’
He also wrote that Baldwin’s excuses ‘are actually so ridiculous they are funny.’

Alec Bladwin, a 6 year olds little boys spoiled brats brain on top of a 52 years old mega-hairy body. So becoming these days. This dude has more body hair then brain cells. Sad he is still able to procreate. In 13 years he will be yelling at this new daughter of his on the phone and telling her how awful she is just like the last one. Maybe this one will be a lesbian and finally put him in his place. Sick of hearing about him.

I think people are being too hard on Alec. He is obviously not a homophobe. He just went through a trial over being stalked and he was angry that paps were sticking cameras in his baby’s face. I still love him. He’s a great guy and a definite ally.
