Advocate’s Person of the Year is Pope Francis
Well, what do you think?
First Time magazine and now The Advocate.
It seems unbelievable that the head of the Roman Catholic Church could be chosen when just a year ago, that man in the job was Pope Benedict who once said homosexuality is ‘intrinsically evil.’
Sorry Catholics, but somebody had some issues.
But Pope Francis seems to be coming from a more positive place.
The Pope’s own words from an interview with America magazine show a man who is not anti-gay: ‘A person once asked me, in a provocative manner, if I approved of homosexuality. I replied with another question: “Tell me: when God looks at a gay person, does he endorse the existence of this person with love, or reject and condemn this person?” We must always consider the person.’

Baffling move by the Advocate. This Pope is certainly showing signs that he’s less anti gay than the Nazi Pope(not a high bar there)but person of the year? Why? Because he’s shown us a little compassion? Isn’t that what he’s supposed to do anyway?
