Adam Shankman tells me he wants to be a daddy

Television audiences know his from So You Can Think You Can Dance but he’s also a bigtime movie director whose credits include Hairspray and last year’s Rock of Ages.

He’s director-producer-choreographer Adam Shankman and I chatted with him over the weekend at the Family Equality Awards dinner.

I asked him why he was at the event and just loved his answer: ‘Rather soon I’m going to be starting a family.’

He wants to be a baby daddy!

Adam got engaged last April to Frank Meely who works in casting and reality television.

‘I met him at his birthday party, Adam says. ‘I was on a date, my date took me to his birthday party and he really shouldn’t have (laughs). And now we’re engaged.’
