Adam Lambert makes a very non-controversial appearance on the “CBS Early Show”

Watched Adam Lambert on the CBS Early Show and it all went off without a hitch.

As if there was any doubt.

What did Good Morning America think he would do? Make out and simulate oral sex with Harry Smith? Sheesh!

Adam’s mom Leila was also on briefly and says she was “a little bit taken aback” by his controversial appearance on the American Music Awards but “I just went with the flow, and it’s all good.”

“He always wanted to entertain, even just in our family, so he took it a few steps further. It’s my kid. He’s doing great. He is entertaining everyone, including me,” she also said on the show.

Adam said AMA performance would not have caused as much controversy if he weren’t openly gay. He also said there were other “adult” moments on the show that caused no outrage.

“I admit I did get carried away, but I don’t see anything wrong with it,” he said. “I do see how people got offended, but that was not my intention. I was looking out in the crowd and saw some of my favorite pop stars and thought, ‘I want to let loose.’ … I think it’s a double whammy. I think it’s because I’m a gay male [people are so outraged] and people haven’t seen that before. I think some people were upset that I kissed a guy.

“When I got up onstage, I don’t think about things like, ‘Oh, this is network television, what time is it? Are children watching?’ ” he continued. “I was just in the moment. I would sing it a little bit better. I’m obviously learning. This is one song. This is one production number. For me, I hope that people don’t put me in a box, like, ‘Oh he’s nasty.’ ”
