Adam Lambert was top “American Idol” alum in 2015
Adam Lambert may not have won American Idol back in 2008, but the show made him a star and he’s burning brighter than ever.
Lambert earned $10 million in 2015 – more than any other American Idol alum including past champions Carrie Underwood, Kelly Clarkson and Scotty McCreery , according to Forbes which released its annual lists of top earners on Wednesday (6 January).
It marks the first time Lambert finished atop the Forbes list of Idol contestant and the most he has earned in a single year.
Lambert’s earnings were fueled by his playing arena shows as the frontman of legendary glam rock band Queen in place of the late Freddie Mercury.
He also released his third solo album, The Original High, in 2015.

This is awesome news! A gay man who came out of the closet at the beginning of his career and he tops the Forbes list of American Idol contestants for earnings in a single year and he didn’t even win American Idol. Now that’s something.
