Adam Lambert happy with “Idol” revamp
Adam Lambert is back on the show this week that started it all for him: American Idol.
He likes what he sees.
The Grammy nominee, the first openly gay artist to ever have an album reach the number one spot on the Billboard sales charts, likes that is happening to the singing competition this season.
‘I think the show is doing a really good job this year of kind of revamping a little bit and keeping up with the times,’ says the season 8 runner-up.
This week’s episodes have the field narrowed down to semifinalists who will be going through a boot camp to help with styling, stage presence and other performance tips.
‘I think this round of contestants is really going to wow America,’ Adam says.
Lambert joins former judge Randy Jackson – he is now the show’s mentor – and fellow former contender Chris Daughtry at the boot camp this week.
‘I sat with the producers and they have all these new ideas and they are really exciting ideas,’ says Adam.

I’ve been watching the promo videos and I must say I’m very impressed with what the new producers are doing for the most part. Didn’t like some of the choices that were made as far who was eliminated. Several great talents have been cut but that’s water under the bridge now. Can’t wait to see my idol Adam Lambert mentor these contestants as he has so much professionalism and talent to share with these kids. Hope he’s on Thurs night also. Can’t get enough of this man on my TV.
