Adam Lambert banned from “Good Morning America” but other shows, including Letterman, eagerly book

1259081702_adam-lambert-290.jpgApparently ABC does not want to be burned twice by the live onstage antics of Adam Lambert who scandalized many with his racy performance on Sunday night at the end of the American Music Awards.
Adam had been scheduled to do a live concert on the network’s Good Morning America show tomorrow.
In a statement, an ABC spokeswoman said, “Given his controversial American Music Awards performance, we were concerned about airing a similar concert so early in the morning.”
Bascially, Adam cannot be trusted on live television right now. He’s so dangerous!
Without skipping a beat, the perennially third-ranked CBS Early Show (forever ranked behind The Today Show and GMA) quickly booked the American Idol star whose album For Your Entertainment is out this week.
While Adam is sure to be a ratings boost for the morning program, it’s not just the lowly-ranked who scored: The Late Show with David Letterman – whose host is no stranger to scandal lately – will welcome Lambert as a musical guest on Wednesday night.

4 Remarks

  1. Hilarious. A show hosted by Sawyer, Roberts and Champion cuts a perf by an out guy. Not that I watch a second of ABC/Disney mediocrity in any given day, but it’s all the more reason not to.

    Jean D. Jones says:

I am so proud of ABC taking a stand and not airing Adam Lambert this morning. There is a time and place for be sexually explicit and on live television with millons of teenagers and children watching, that is certainly not the time or place. Though I didn’t vote for Adam on Americal Idol, I thought he was a superb performer, but am so glad now that he was not labeled “our Americal Idol.” I will certainly hit the channel button to change channels anytime I see him.

  3. About time we really came out of our proverbial closets. Newly out gay men are expected to go a little overboard with expression after being kept on a short leash for the sake of acceptance. Heck the show up until the performance lacked shall we say any creativity and Mr. Lambert showed the world our own glass houses. So you didn’t like it well Boo-Hoo.

  4. I’m not an Adam Lambert fan. I will say his AMA performance was one of the best of the night and that nothing about it was “shocking” or “controversial”. So what if he kissed a few girls and then kissed a few guys? In a day in age when we want our artists to have their own personalities and be themselves on stage, why do we still get freaked out when we see a gay man kiss another gay man on TV?
