Adam Lambert album has historic #1 debut

Elton John and George Michael have had albums debut at number one on the Billboard charts but neither were openly gay at the time.

So Adam Lambert made some history today when his album Trespassing opened in the top spot on the Billboard 200 chart.

By selling 77,000 copies, Trespassing dislodged Carrie Underwood’s Blown Away and outperformed Lambert’s first album, For Your Entertainment, which had debuted at number three two years ago.

‘Thank you to the Glamily for helping me make HISTORY!’ Lambert tweeted to his 1.5 million followers on Twitter.
