Actor Terell Carter is outed when ex-boyfriend posts photos of them together on the Internet
What is it with ex-boyfriends lately?
Sheesh.
First Dustin Lance Black is forced to endure a former lover’s betrayal when photos of them having sex were posted on PerezHilton.com.
Now comes this: actor Terrell Carter, a gorgeous actor and singer who has starred in a number of Tyler Perry’s stage productions in his famed Madea series, was outed over the weekend when his former boyfriend posted photos of himself with Carter in bed, according to Advocate.com.
Carter starred in Class Reunion and Meet the Browns as well as the big-screen adaptation of Diary of a Mad Black Woman.
The alleged ex-boyfriend is Alex Cortez who started posting the pictures on various websites last week as well as on his MySpace and Twitter accounts.
From The Advocate: Black gossip blogs have flocked to the photos. Gossip site MediaTakeOut.com has more than 450 comments, while gossip blogger Sandra Rose, who originally reported that Carter was gay earlier this year, wrote that “99% of the actors in Tyler’s movies are gay.”
In this day and age, you wish more actors would be out and proud – especially when you see that the careers of Neil Patrick Harris, T.R. Knight, Ian McKellen, Chad Allen, John Barrowman, Peter Paige and Robert Gant are thriving. It’s about talent baby!
Still, the decision to come out or not should always be left up to the person. It’s so uncool to out someone who you supposedly cared about. That said,. I hope Carter can embrace being out and be more successful than ever.

The real story here is one of betrayal. I am deeply saddened, and hope that Mr. Carter will find comfort in his friends and family- and in the LGBT community. As an out-proud and out-loud lesbian, I remember how terrifying it was for me to come out- and to be forced out must be so much harder! Mr. Carter, stay strong, and know that many are wishing you all the blessings of Love, Light, and Peace.

If you are gay, then that is r business, I have read posting where people are actually judging you for who u r. I mean, so what, the brotha’s gay, big deal.. I just think it’s sad that people are always looking for a reason to try and tarnish a persons image/reputation.. Terrell didn’t/don’t owe anybody his means of sexuality, and as long as he never presented himself as a homophobic, what did he actually do wrong? All this gossip and controversy surrounding being gay is reason(s) why many more men won’t be open about being gay or bisexual.. Because people are always trying to make u look bad for it somehow.. Let that man live his life, he isn’t bothering anybody by being gay, so what’s the big fuss? Because maybe some women are disappointed by the news? Sorry to say, but that’s not his problem, or at least it shouldn’t be.. I used to be in the closet until 6 years ago (2005) someone close to me outed me, which caused me to stand tall & strong on the matter and face my fears of being exposed.. And believe me, it was a HUGE fear.. Since then, it made me stronger and I found out who were the real people in my circle, plus I could care less anymore about who knows.. Getting back to Terrell, again, let that man live his life and y’all stop all the unnecessary gossip & drama.. I ask women this question all the time: how do you know you’ve never slept with a man who’s in the closet about being gay or bisexual? Stop and think about thAt!!!
