ABC drops Adam Lambert again – this time from Jimmy Kimmel Live and from New Years Eve special

Adam Lambert’s racy performance on last week’s American Music Awards has resulted in him – again – being dropped from performing on another ABC show.
A week after ABC bailed on Adam appearing on Good Morning America, the network has canceled Adam’s scheduled Dec. 17 appearances on Jimmy Kimmel Live and on the New Years Rockin’ Eve special, the singer confirms today.
Adam delivered the news himself earlier today via Twitter: Yes, sadly friends, ABC has cancelled my appearances on Kimmel and NYE. š don’t blame them. It’s the FCC heat. … I AM doing Leno though. And lookin into something for NYE. … It’ll all blow over. Let’s focus on being positive! š … Thank you to everyones support of my album! Came in last week at #3!
Since the AMAs, Adam has performed, witbout incident, on both CBS’s The Early Show and on The Late Show with David Letterman.
In a statement to the
Los Angeles Times., an ABC spokeswoman made no mention of the FCC and would only explain the network’s decision to disinvite Lambert from performing on “Kimmel” as follows, “We decided not to move forward with the booking at this time.” ABC declined to be interviewed about the issue.
USExpat says:
Hey ABC–everyone loves a bully. I will be tuning in to any program that Adam is on. I am always glad when corporate America throws its weight around–that is why the US is in a mess today.
