A new Streisand album is on the way!

Cher is gonna make a movie musical, I’m seeing Patti LuPone tonight at the Ahmanson, and now there’s this: the release date for a new Barbra Streisand studio album has been announced.

Knock me over with a feather.

The album, Love Is the Answer, is September 29 and is tje great star’s first new studio recording since 2005’s Guilty Pleasures.

The album will give us Streisand as a cabaret and jazz singer singing a selection of songs on love’s powers, heartbreaks and solaces. She worked on the recording with Diana Krall and her quartet and Grammy award winning arranger Johnny Mandel.

Streisand is the number one selling female recording artist in history with 50 gold, 30 platinum and 13 multi-platinum albums.
