Kristy McNichol comes out publicly!
We all (at least anyone over 40!) remembers Buddy Lawrence from the ABC drama Family.
She was played by Kristy McNichol who won an Emmy for the role then went on to star in movies like Little Darlings, Only When I Laugh, The Pirate Movie and The End.
She returned to television for the NBC sitcom Empty Nest.
But Kristy was troubled by depression and took several breaks from acting before taking a permanent break more than 2o years ago.
Well today, she returned to the spotlight with a statement from her publicist that she is a lesbian and wanted to go public in order to help bullied kids.
Ironic that her big sister on the Family series was played be Meredith Baxter who came out a few years back!

Maybe I was high, it was the late 80s/early 90s, but I thought Kristy came out 20+ years ago. If she didn’t, well, I stand corrected, or maybe clarivoyant. Anyway, I think Justin Bieber needs to come out, as a lesbian. I saw a picture the other day and thought that Ellen had left Portia for Selena Gomez. Then I realized it wasn’t Ellen, it was Justin Bieber. That girl is butch.
