‘1 Million People who support Ellen for J.C. Penney’ Facebook page has more than 100,000 followers

Ellen DeGeneres is finding out just how popular she is.
After the anti-gay group OneMillionMoms.com called for J.C. Penney to fire the television personality because she is a lesbian, public support for DeGeneres has soared.
DeGeneres pointed out on her daytime talk show this week that One Million Moms actually has a membership of about 40,000.
‘They’re rounding to the nearest million, and I get that,’ she joked.
The new Facebook page, ‘1 Million People who support Ellen for J.C. Penney,’ has quickly doubled that as it surpassed 100,000 followers just before noon PST on Friday (10 February).
Membership had more than doubled in the previous 12 hours.

You go Ellen, homophobic people are welcome to go to hell.
Claire Timberlake says:
We are all family. We all have value. I’ll be shopping at JCPenny now! Can’t wait to see their tv ads with Ellen! I’ll support J.C. Penny for Ellen. ( :
Barbara Merk says:
As far as I’m concerned, those “million” moms can stay home and NOT tune in to watch Ellen every afternoon. They should focus their negative energy on raising funds for needy public schools, as Ellen does for schools all across our country. She doesn’t ask the race or religion of the children. Nor does she ask the political affiliation of their parents. She sees schools and students in need, and gets stores and companies to donate what they need. You should be so energetic and positive! Moreover, you should be ashamed of yourselves.

I haven’t been into a JC Penney’s in years. Ellen is awesome, so I would be happy to head over to JCP on Saturday afternoon for a look-see. One million Moms can stick it up their collective million asses!
Jann says:
Really there are still people out there who think it is a ‘Life Style Choice” come on. Wake up and smell the coffee. I am in Canada, but I do shop at JCPenny when I am in the States, and will continue to do so
Will says:
One Million Moms Group can suck it.. JCP has made an awesome choice to pick Ellen..I bet Million Moms are regretting doing this because the backlash has been so sweet for us AND people are now willing to buy at JCP just to spit in that stupid groups face!..Even though Ellen hates fights i bet she loves how One Million Moms had no effect on her or JCP and its customers. Everyone still loves Ellen and JCP is now bigger than ever thanks to One Million Moms LOL! Karma is a bitch! But this time in an AWESOME BITCH KIND OF WAY!
Cathy says:

Amy7509 says:
Ellen, run for president!
RichB in PS says:
Great support even from Howard Stern!
K. Martinez says:
They should be called “One Million Miserable Moms”. They sound like a bunch of unhappy women who want to blame others for their own failed lives.
Richard Belardo says:
I do not have anything against gays. What I do not understand is why they have to constantly strut, talk and brag about it. You are what you are. Case closed. Do I go around saying, “I am straight”. No! It should not even be an issue.
TexasTexasTexas says:
Please keep the children and relatives of the One Million Idiots in your thoughts.
Mark Ropp says:
@Richard Belardo…As soon as “We the Gay Community” are able to enjoy all of the same liberties as “They the Straight Community” we will continue…as you put it…”Strut”,”Talk” and “Brag” about it. And as far as you not going around and saying that “You are Straight”…you don’t need to because we live in a society that just assumes that everyone is straight. That is why we “Strut”, “Talk” and “Brag” about it. And just to let you know I have never strutted or bragged about being gay. I do however talk about it. And finally just for the record I have seen far more strutting and bragging done by the straight community than I have from the gay community. Think about it! Respectfully, Mark Ropp

As much as we dislike or disagree with what One Million Moms stand for I urge all of you to remind yourself before posting a comment that it is “Equality” “Understanding”, “Respect”, “Compassion”, “Kindness” Etc. Etc. Etc. and keep the “Vulgar”,”Hateful” and “Disrespectful” comments to yourself. They’re NOT PRODUCTIVE towards our ultimate goal of helping them understand and the possibility that we may all live together in “Peace & Harmony” Respectfully, Mark Ropp http://www.facebook.com/standupforellen
Mark Ropp says:
@ Barbara Merk They should watch “The Ellen Show” than that way they can see for themselves what a loving and compassionate person she really is. Respectfully, Mark Ropp
Mark Ropp says:
@Amy7509 If she’s President she’ll be too busy to spend every day with us so how about in 2016 “Hillary for President” and “Ellen for Vice President” than that way she would still have time to spend with us, her loving fans. Mark
Bonnie Crosby says:
I think the 1 million Moms should find something constructive to do. I watch Ellens show and she has a heart of PURE GOLD. Look what she does for people! Can these miserable Moms say the same? Also they should see just how their actions look to their own kids by being so judgemental. MOMS MYOB….LEAVE ELLEN ALONE…
JCP You picked the perfect person to represent you… way to go!!
