Wednesday Morning Man: Ryan McPartlin!
If you watch NBC’s Chuck, then you are already familiar with the handsome guy who plays Devon “Captain Awesome” Woodcomb on the show.
He’s 35-year-old actor Ryan McPartlin who I first became aware of when he played Fran Drescher’s young lover on her sitcom Living With Fran.
Ryan was a big man on campus at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign where he was a linebacker on the football team and earned a degree in speech communications. He spent six months in Australia and New Zealand before heading to LA to pursue an acting career.
He spent years as a Abercrombie and Fitch model then spent three years playing Hank Bennett on the daytime soap Passions.
Ryan has been married to actress Danielle Kirlin since 2002 (they have two sons) but he’s appreciative of his huge gay fan base. He says in the current issue of Metrosource NY: “I’ve always had a good gay fan base from Passions, the soap opera. Then I was in Living with Fran with Fran Drescher who had a great fan base. Plus I took my shirt off in every show; so that didn’t hurt either.”
