Our hotel was a couple doors away from the theater, and we talked with John several times as he was just "hanging out" visiting with fans. My grandson was going through a difficult experience of school bullying at the time, and we talked with John about it. When the road production came to Phoenix, I attended an advance event for those with concern about the play's content. I was grateful to stand and say, unequivocally, that it made a tremendously needed statement about adolescence. We're all Green Day fans, and we're going to try to get ourselves to New York to see "American Idiot."
