Wednesday Morning Man: Dan Stevens! to my pal Lorna Harris for another great Morning Man suggestion!

This handsome lad is British actor Dan Stevens who Lorna has been watching on the series Downton Abbey. The 29-year-old star has an extensive list of film and television credits including the role of Edward Ferrars in the miniseries Sense and Sensibility and BBC productions of Maxwell and Dracula.

His stage career is even more impressive with roles in major productions of Private Lives, Much Ado About Nothing, Arcadia, The Vortex, As You Like It and Waiting for Godot.

He attended Cambridge where he was a member of The Footlights and also gained acting experience with the National Youth Theatre.

Dan Stevens Dan Stevens arrives at the Royal Film Performance and world premiere of "The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage Of The Dawn Treader", held at Odeon Leicester Square London.

    Nick Hartmann says:

Dan Stevens played the leading role in the BBC adaptation of the Booker Prize-winning gay novel The Line of Beauty. He plays Nick Guest, a gay Oxford graduate who moves to London in 1983 to stay with a friend’s wealthy family, and he certainly gets to run the gamut of emotions. In the first episode of the three-part adaptation, Nick is a virgin about to embark on a thesis about Henry James. He has only recently come out, and he is still capable of being overawed by the grand lifestyle of his adopted family, the Feddens. A great series!

  2. Like millions of others, I adore watching Downton Abbey. I read in Town & Country magazine that Dan Stevens may not continue in the series after Season 3. I sincerely hope if the series continues past this year that he will be remain in the cast. He is such an enormous talent and easy on the eyes! I’m looking forward to seeing “The Heiress” on February 20th while I’m in New York visiting a friend.
