Wayne Brady back on set of “How I Met Your Mother” as Barney Stinson’s gay brother James!

Some of my favorite episodes of CBS’s How I Met Your Mother have been when Barney’s brother James (Wayne Brady) pays a visit.

Neil Patrick Harris, up for the Emmy for the fourth time for his performance as Barney, has posted an update on Twitter that he is currently shooting another episode with Brady who was in the cast of the NPH-directed production of Rent at the Hollywood Bowl earlier this month: “Just spent the day on set with Frances Conroy/Wayne Brady. Very proud to be their son/brother. Excited about season six of HIMYM.”

We first met the character of James back in 2006 and the whole set-up was delicious: Barney obviously is a real skirtchaser who is played by a gay actor. Wayne plays his brother (they have different fathers…duh) who is the gay version of Barney…a real dudechaser who finally decides to settle down. Barney was not happy about it.

They were two peas in a pod in terms of personality and attitude and had been each other’s wingman on the single’s scene forever and even scored a brother and sister once!

Not sure what is in store for Brady’s latest appearance as James but I look forward to watching it!
