Tuesday Morning Man: Robbie Amell!

Today is actor Robbie Amell’s 32nd birthday, one day before mine. We are quarantine birthday buddies it turns out!

I have met Robbie a few times at Hollywood events and found him to be very nice, humble, and helpful. During our first chat in 2010, he explained to me his role in a Nickelodeon show (True Jackson, VP) and didn’t seem at all annoyed that I’d never er heard of it – or him!

But that changed by the next time I saw Robbie at a splashy party celebrating the publication of Robbie Rogers’ memoir, Coming Out to Play, at Pacific Design Center. He was then one of stars of The CW series The Tomorrow People.

He’s gone on to play Ronnie Raymond/Firestorm on The CW’s series The Flash, Fred Jones in the films Scooby-Doo! The Mystery Begins and Scooby-Doo! Curse of the Lake Monster, and appeared in the films The Hunters as Paxton Flynn, The DUFF as Wesley Rush, and The Babysitter as Max.

His first cousin is Arrow star Stephen Amell.

One Remark

    Tommy Marx says:

I was very excited to watch “Tomorrow People”, and Robbie is extremely good-looking, so that was a definite plus. But then in the first episode it turned out that he was a freshman in high school, and I was like, he’s in his late twenties at least!!, and it turned me off the show completely. I know a lot of the CW shows (and other shows) higher older people to play teenagers, but as good-looking as he is, Robbie looks his age – which I personally think is a good thing – and it just completely turned me off the show. Why wouldn’t they at the very least make him a college student in the show?
