Tuesday Morning Man: Jonathan Groff!

It’s always a little extra special when the Morning Man is gay. Today that person is Tony nominee Jonathan Groff who came out publicly in a recent interview with Broadway.com.
The Spring Awakening star, who also appeared in last summer’s Ang Lee-directed Taking Woodstock, reunited with his former Hair castmates at the Equality March in Washington D.C. and now comes word that he will have a recurring role on the new Fox series Glee.
EW.com reports that Jonathan will appear in five or six episodes playing the lead male singer of the group Vocal Adrenaline.
Glee co-creator Ryan Murphy describes the character this way:“He is a male diva…a miva.”
The actor is also serving as a potential love interest for Lea Michele’s character which is sweet since they were in Spring Awakening together.
Broadway.com reports that Jonathan most recently appeared on the New York Stage as Dionysus in the Shakespeare in the Park production of The Bacchae. In addition to Spring Awakening, he appeared in two Craig Lucas plays (The Singing Forest and Prayer for My Enemy), starred as Claude in the Shakespeare in the Park revival of Hair.

Good for Jonathan for coming out and being gay and proud! He is so adorable! The curls, the dimples, everything! I am so glad he is going to be on Glee opposite his best friend Lea Michele. They are so great together and being from Michigan, I haven’t had much of a chance to see his work. So looking forward to it!
