Tuesday Morning Man: Jason Knowles!
Last night on Larry King Live, this 35-year-old reporter from ABC’s Chicago affiliate was on. Jason Knowles had just covered the funeral of Sea World animal trainer Dawn Brancheau and while I first noticed how handsome he was, I was most impressed with how much detailed information he had and shared without prompting. His reporting was thoughtful and gave us a good picture of who this poor woman was.
Here us what I found out about him from his ABC 7 bio: Jason joined Chicago’s top-rated news station as a general assignment reporter in February, 2009 but had been a special projects producer there since 2004 and worked on many special segments focusing on consumer issues and new technology-lifestyle trends.
Jason traveled to South Africa in 2007 to cover the opening of Oprah Winfrey’s Girls’ school and also field produced for the 2008 Republican National Convention and the Inauguration of President Barack Obama in Washington D.C.
Prior to joining ABC 7, Jason acquired extensive experience as an on-air reporter. He spent eight years on the air at various stations including WTVG-TV, the ABC-owned station in Toledo, Ohio, where he was their Investigative Reporter and Consumer Troubleshooter. He also worked as a reporter and anchor at WKAG-TV in Hopkinsville, Kentucky.
Jason lives on the North Side of Chicago and enjoys running outdoors and traveling to warm weather when possible to escape Chicago winters. He is a big movie fan and loves keeping up with the latest technology trends. He graduated from Bowling Green State University in Ohio and he is a native of Cleveland, Ohio.
