Tuesday Morning Man: Evan Low!

I’m featuring openly gay California Assemblyman Evan Low because he is Chair of the California Legislative LGBT Caucus. The Democrat from the Silicon Valley authored legislation to commemorate May 22, 2018 as Harvey Milk Day. It passed the Assembly by a unanimous vote this week.

“Harvey Milk’s role in the LGBT civil rights movement and his resulting legacy have inspired generations of LGBT leaders and activists,” Low said in a statement. “His contributions to the state of California are lasting, and it is important that we recognize and honor him.”

He was elected to the California State Assembly in November 2014 to represent District 28. At the age of 31, Assemblymember Low became the youngest Asian American legislator to have been elected to the Assembly in state history.
