Tuesday Morning Man: David Berry!

I find myself going down more YouTube wormholes than usual these days and one of them led to my spending hours watching partial episodes of the Australian TV drama A Place to Call Home.

Set in deeply conservative 1950s Australia, the storyline involving the gay character of James Bligh is fascinating. It feels authentic due to the performance of actor David Berry who fully commits to the role emotionally and physically. He was nominated for Australia’s Logie Award for his performance,

Berry landed the role soon after graduating from the Australian National Institute of Dramatic Art (NIDA) and has since gone on to become a star on TV’s Outlander on which he plays Lord John Grey.

He has extensive stage credits and been in the films Progeny and The Crater: A True Story of Vietnam.

3 Remarks

  1. full episodes are on station ‘Ovation’ on Monday mornings. (on cable in my case).

  2. APTCH is one of my favourite series due in large part to his portrayal of James.

  3. Great show and a really nice love story.
