Tuesday Morning Man: Jason Lewis!
One of the sexiest scenes ever on the Sex and the City series was when Jason Lewis’ character of Smith Jerrod shaved his head in solidarity with his girlfriend Samantha (Kim Cattrall) whose hair was falling out to do chemotherapy treatments for breast cancer. They broke up in the first Sex movie released last year but it was to Jason’s credit that he made Smith so appealing you didn’t wonder how he was able to tame the swinging Samantha for awhile.
It was also so nice to see Jason return to Brothers & Sisters for a recent episode reprising his role of Kevin’s (Matthew Rhys) former lover Chad – a formerly closeted TV star who is now out and proud.
I spoke with Jason about the role of Chad at the GLAAD Media Awards a few years ago and he said: “I think the writing on it was fantastic because, although it was about a character coming out, I think it was universal in that it was about anybody who doesn’t understand themselves and kind of destruction they do to their lives.”
While Jason is straight off-screen, he has been a big supporter of the LGBT community and did a guest role in the animated Logo series Rick & Steve The Happiest Gay Couple in the World.
He next stars in the dramas The Pardon and The Eastmans.

Here in Italy we had (last year) the chance to see him in the serial “Mogli a pezzi”, a sort of “Italian Desperate Housewives”.
He’s also starring in a tv-movie (“So che ritornerai”) which will broadcast tomorrow on the most important commercial tv-channel.
