Tuesday Afternoon Man: David Giuntoli! Tuesday everyone!

Sorry for the late start on the blog today but I think this guy was worth waiting for! His name is David Giuntoli and he is an actor on the rise.

It was just reported last week that David, best known for the MTV movie Turn the Beat Around, has landed the lead in NBC’s drama pilot Grimm.

It is described by Deadline Hollywood as a dark but fantastical cop drama about a world in which characters inspired by Grimm’s Fairy Tales exist. Grimm centers on Nick Burckhardt (Giuntoli), a good-looking detective who starts to see humans as  beast/animals and discovered that he has a legacy – to protect “humans” from these beasts.

So where have you seen David before?

It could be on a number of shows but the one I remember best is an episode of Grey’s Anatomy where he played the boyfriend of a gay soldier who was about to undergo life-or-death surgery. The two share a passionate kiss as Meredith is in the room and she sweetly looks on with a smile.

David, who is now 30, graduated from Indiana University-Bloomington in 2004 with a Bachelors Degree in International Business and Finance. Three years later, he headed out to Los Angeles to pursue an acting career.

He first gained attention as a participant on MTV’s Road Rules: South Pacific and later on Real World/Road Rules Challenge: The Gauntlet.

In addition to Grey’s Anatomy, he has done guest spots on Hot In Cleveland, Cold Case, Nip/Tuck, Veronica Mars, Without a Trace, Crash, Eli Stone, Private Practice and Ghost Whisperer, among others.

He had a recurring roles on the CW series Privileged and on the short-lived ABC legal drama The Deep End.

Here is the Grey’s Anatomy kiss:
