T.R. Knight headed for Broadway!
It takes a lot of guts to leave a successful television series. That’s why I have a lot of respect for T.R. Knight’s decision to quit ABC’s Grey’s Anatomy where his Emmy-nominated role of George O’Malley was being diminished. This is an actor who wants to act and grow and will now get that chance in a return to his stage roots. He has signed on to star in the upcoming Broadway revival of Lend Me a Tenor, according to Entertainment Weekly.
T.R. will play the role of Max in the classic farce, which is being directed by Stanley Tucci and is scheduled to open in February 2010. Additional casting will be announced in the coming weeks.
Before he returns The Great White Way, Knight has a local engagement to fulfill: he is set headline a production of Jason Robert Brown’s Tony-winning Parade at Los Angeles’ Mark Taper Forum.
