Totally Random Video: The Norma Shearer-Joan Crawford confrontation scene in “The Women”

The 1939 film The Women is such a hoot.

Joan Crawford was perfectly cast as Crystal Allen, the tough perfume saleswoman who steals Mary Haines’ (played by Norma Shearer) husband.

This classic confrontation scene takes place after Mary finds out about the affair and is furious that Crystal has spent time with her daughter.

Both actresses are perfectly cast and give sensational performances.

    James Dwight Williamson says:

Tu jour lamour , tu jour lamour, were on the train to Reno ! One of my all time Jungle Red hot favorites. Thank you, There are two remakes I know of June Allyson Mary, Joan Collins Crystal. Meg Ryan Mary, Eva Mendez , perfume girl.

  2. Joan Crawford resented the fact that Norma Shearer, the wife of Irving Thalberg, head of production at MGM was given many juicy roles, including the starring role in this film.
