Today’s Morning Man: Barack Obama!
Today is former US President Barack Obama’s 63rd birthday so as a present, he’s been made Morning Man.
Like any president, Obama had his detractors. I’m absolutely not one of them.
I am confident history will judge this man as one of the greatest presidents in history and I am personally eternally grateful that during his time in office, he eventually become such a staunch supporter of LGBT equality. His speech in the Rose Garden on the morning the Supreme Court made same-sex marriage legal in every state made me weep.
I’ll never, ever forget it or all he has done for people like me.
He has remained productive and creative since leaving office writing his presidential memoir, A Promised Land. In February 2021, Obama and musician Bruce Springsteen started a podcast called Renegades: Born in the USA. His podcast company with wife Michelle, Higher Ground, signed a multi-year deal with Audible and he won a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Narrator for his narration in the Netflix documentary series Our Great National Parks.
He’s a class act who continues to make our world a better place.
