Today’s Morning Man: Thomas Roberts!

Emmy Award-winning TV newsman Thomas Roberts turns 50 today so what better excuse do I need to post a bunch of photos of one of the most handsome men on television?

I will always have so much admiration for Thomas for coming out publicly as a gay man nearly 15 years ago while he was an anchor for CNN Headline News. It cost him as he was soon relegated to a less-visible time slot and soon left the network to become a correspondent for The Insider.

Then came his most high-profile years as an MSNBC anchor and correspondent for NBC News. He did morning gigs on Way Too Early and Morning Joe before becoming host of Live with Thomas Roberts.

He made history over the summer of 2015 when he became the first openly gay man to anchor NBC Nightly News. Thomas also was presented with the Vito Russo Award at that year’s GLAAD Media Awards in New York City and threw out the first pitch at a Baltimore Orioles game.

September 2020, Thomas became the host of The Daily Mail TV, a syndicated daily newsmagazine that recently ended its five-season run.

Thomas has been married to the equally handsome Patrick D. Abner since 2012 but the couple has been together since 2000.
