Toast of Broadway Jane Fonda on wall at Sardi’s

Jane Fonda, a Tony nominee for 33 Variations, has taken the New York theater world by storm in her first Broadway show in more than 45 years.

Whether she wins the Tony or not, Jane achieved some immortality with the unveiling of a caricature unveiling at the world famous Broadway eatery, Sardi’s Restaurant. While there, Jane paid a visit to the caricature of her late father, Henry Fonda.

Jane, a two-time Oscar winner (Coming Home, Klute) and an Emmy winner (The Dollmaker), made her Broadway debut in play There Was a Little Girl back in 1960 and was nominated for a Tony Award for her performance. But until this year, she had not appeared on Broadway since the play Strange Interlude in 1963.

33 Variartions ends its run on May 21.
