He’s a terrific actor, damned good looking, and works all the time. Well, he could breakthrough to an entirely new level with his new HBO series Hung premiering next month.

He plays a high school coach named Ray who pretty much hates his life. He decides to change things up by becoming a male prostitute. The reason for the show’s title? Well, Ray is apparently hung like a horse!

Thomas played Mickey Mantle in the wonderful film 61*, was the object of Cameron Diaz’s affection in The Sweetest Thing, and had the title role in the film adaptation of The Punisher based on the Marvel Comics superhero. But my favorite Thomas Jane film is The Velocity of Gary in which he and Vincent D’Onofrio play lovers. But Thomas’ character must share him with a woman played by Salma Hayek!

I met Thomas in Vegas five years ago at the annual ShoWest Convention. He was there to promote The Punisher as well as a smaller indie film called Stander. Although he was cleasrly more buff in Punisher, he was completely naked in a few scenes in Stander.

I was sitting directly in back of Thomas during the screening of Stander and at one point his head obscured my view of the screen just as his character was running on the beach nude. I thought about tapping him ion the shoulder and saying: “Excuse me, do you mind moving your head so I can see your ASS?”

To this day, I kinda regret not doing it! Met Thomas after the movie and mentioned it to him and he got a big laugh out of it.
