Friday Morning Man: Sam Mikulak!
Another day, another cute American male gymnast headed to the London Olympics.
Today’s athlete is Sam Mikulak who was named to the men’s Olympic gymnastics team last weekend.
Mikulak had finished first in last Thursday’s first night of Olympic trials then spent a nervous night after his bad ankle kept him from competing in five of the six men’s events Saturday.
“I can’t believe this is happening right now,” he told the LA Times after making the team. “So much hard work has gone into it. I’ve been dreaming about this moment for so long and for it to finally be here, I’m just super excited.”
Sam is just 19 and from Newport Coast, CA. He is the 2012 NCAA high bar champion and all-around silver medalist.
