Thursday Morning Man: Matt Lauria
The first time I noticed Matt Lauria, he played the gay assistant of a fashion designer on NBC’s Lipstick Jungle.
I was smitten.
That led to his first series-regular role as Luke Cafferty, #44 of the East Dillon Lions, in the Emmy-award winning drama Friday Night Lights which ended its five season run in 2011.
Matt, 34, then spent a season on Fox’s crime drama The Chicago Code then had the recurring role of Ryan York on NBC’s Parenthood.
Now he’s on the Direct TV drama Kingdom as fighter Ryan Wheeler.
Matt was born in Virginia but his family moved to Ireland when he was just seven. He lived in Dublin until returning to the US to attend high school.
He received his formal acting training from the University of North Carolina School of the Arts in their drama conservatory.
