Throwback Thursday Video: When Diana Ross played a diva on a 1970s sitcom starring Danny Thomas
It’s well-known that Danny Thomas starred in the long-running classic sitcom Make Room for Daddy from 1953 to 1965. What’s not as well known is that the TV legend reprised the role in a subsequent series during the 1970-71 TV season. One of the episodes featured Diana Ross as a fictional diva singer also named Diana. Miss Ross was newly solo after leaving the Supremes. Just a few years later she would star in Lady Sings the Blues and earn a best actress Oscar nomination. She’s such a natural actress that it’s a shame she didn’t make more films. Anyway, the video isn’t the best quality but I think you’ll enjoy it.
