Throwback Thursday Video: See “The Carol Burnett Show” perform “Broad” sketch parody of “Maude”

Before Bea Arthur was Dorothy on The Golden Girls, she played the role of liberal feminist Maude Findlay for six seasons (1972-78) on the CBS sitcom Maude. Arthur, who won an Emmy for her portrayal, debuted the character on an episode of All in the Family. She was so good that the network quickly ordered a series.

From the March 17, 1973 episode of The Carol Burnett Show, here is the Maude parody sketch ‘Broad’.
