Thomas Gibson fired from ‘Criminal Minds’
I first became smitten with Thomas Gibson when he played the closeted gay Beauchamp Day on Armistead Maupin’s Tales of the City in 1993. That’s the same year he had a gay role in the indie flick Love & Human Remains. I’ve been a fan ever since through his series roles on Chicago Hope, Dharma & Greg (even though I couldn’t really stand Dharma) and for the last 12 years on Criminal Minds which my mom always seems to have on. Well, it seems that handsome Thomas did a really ugly thing and it got him fired from the long-running CBS show. It seems he kicked a writer during an argument they had while working on an episode Gibson was directing. He said in a statement to USA Today: “I love Criminal Minds and have put my heart and soul into it for the last 12 years. I had hoped to see it through to the end, but that won’t be possible now. I would just like to say thank you to the writers, producers, actors, our amazing crew, and, most importantly, the best fans that a show could ever hope to have.”

Eddie says:
I was so sorry to hear this happened. If he was that frustrated over a scene then perhaps it was time for him to go. I hope this means we’ll see more of him back home.
Tim says:
Actors just can not going kicking writers! Prolly more to this than we know. Gibson was already a handful, no doubt. 12 years of reruns to watch. TV is never forever.
Charlie says:
Gibson’s character was pretty integral to the show. It will be interesting to see how they will work around his not being there any longer.
