The Hallmark Channel corrects mistake after initially caving to bigoted anti-LGBTQ group
I was fully prepared to boycott The Hallmark Channel for the rest of my life earlier today. I take my boycotts seriously – it’s been years since I’ve eaten at a Chick-fil-a and I’m not even tempted to.
But Hallmark Channel has reinstated LGBTQ-inclusive advertisements for the wedding planning and registry company Zola.com, after they decided to pull them from their network due to complaints from the conservative group One Million Moms who don’t have anywhere even near a million members.
Kudos to GLAAD for their aggressive stance and public pressure on Hallmark Channel which has yet to include any same-sex couples in any of the slew of holiday movies it airs each year – and very few non-white people as well.

John says:
The Lifetime network has beaten Hallmark to the punch as far as showing an overtly gay couple in one of its movies. They’re supporting roles, but representation is representation. The brother of the lead male character has a husband, and the two even kiss at the end of the movie. “Twinkle All the Way” reruns on Thursday, December 19, on Lifetime.

Thank you John for telling us about the rerun, I’ll definitely tune in.
