Tennis selfies with legends Federer, Djokovic and Borg and some younger studs of the ATP tour
It’s Laver Cup time in Chicago and I’m fascinated by the fact that event founder Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic are playing on the same team.
These are two of the greatest male tennis players of all time with 34 grand slam singles titles between them (20 for Federer, 14 for Djokovic who is six years younger).
At 37, Federer is currently ranked number two in the world and is the reigning Australian Open champion. Djokovic came back from injury and a to-year slump to win Wimbledon and the US Open this season.
Laver Cup is unlike any of its kind as players that aren’t from the same country will be suiting up as teammates—most for the first time.
Federer leads Team Europe which includes Djokovic, Alexander Zverev, Grigor Dimitrov, David Goffin, Kyle Edmund and alternate Jeremy Chardy. Team World will feature John Isner, Kevin Anderson, Frances Tiafoe, Diego Schwartzman, Jack Sock, Nick Kyrgios and alternate Nicolas Jarry.
Here are some selfies Federer took earlier this week with his Team Europe teammates including team captain Bjorn Borg who is quite the silver fox!
