The actress, who earned an Emmy nomination for guest actress for her performance on Glee as April, will return to the show during the second half of the season for a guest spot.

Murphy, who also created Nip/Tuck and directed the upcoming feature film Eat, Pray Love starring Julia Roberts, has big plans for Chenoweth.

“”I’ve always wanted to write and do something with Kristin and Kristin is a good, close friend of mine, obviously. So I’m writing a half-hour musical comedy specifically for Kristin. I want her to be the star of her own show where she sings.”

He added that the show would be a single-camera program.

While best-known for her Broadway work in such shows as Wicked, You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown and her current hit Promises, Promises, Chenoweth won an Emmy for best supporting actress in a comedy last year for her work on Pushing Daisies.

She was also  member of the cast of The West Wing for three seasons and back in 20o1 and had a short-lived NBC sitcom called Kristin that last 11 episodes.

One Remark

  1. Are you aware you misspelled KristIn Chenoweth’s name for the entire article? “I,” not “E.” :] Common misconception.
