(Updated) Tanya Roberts of “Charlie’s Angels” and “That 70s Show” fame has died unexpectedly at age 65

UPDATE: In a shocking turn of events, Tanya Roberts’ boyfriend Lance O’Brien received a call in the middle of an interview with Inside Edition on Monday telling him that Tanya was still alive. It has been announced that she died on Sunday at the age of 65.

O’Brien broke down into tears upon hearing the news. Because of COVID-19 protocols, he was unable to see her in the hospital where she was admitted after collapsing while walking her dog on Christmas Eve. This is amazing news. I’ll keep you posted on any future developments and we hope Tanya can make a full recovery.

The former Bond girl who was also in the casts of Charlie’s Angels and That 70s Show collapsed on Christmas Eve after tasking her dogs out for a walk.

Her publicist and longtime friend Mike Pingel told USA TODAY that Roberts died Sunday at Los Angeles’ Cedar-Sinai Hospital. The actress was hospitalized Dec. 24 and placed on a ventilator following a collapse that occurred after walking her dogs. “It came out of nowhere, it was all very sudden,” said Pingel.

He did not disclose the cause of death, but said Roberts did not die from a COVID-19 related illness. Pingel said that Roberts was extremely cautious during COVID-19, venturing out three times in 2020, twice to take her beloved dogs to the veterinarian.

Roberts had a year-long run on Charlie’s Angels as tough-talking Julie Rogers, who helped the Townsend Agency detectives solve crimes in “Charlies Angels,” following the departure of Shelley Hack. She joined Jaclyn Smith and Cheryl Ladd for the fifth and final season of a show that had launched Farrah Fawcett to stardom and had also starred Kate Jackson for three seasons.

I met Tanya several years ago at Pingel’s annual holiday party in West Hollywood and she could not have been lovelier. My condolences to Mike and to all of her fans.
