Talk Show Round-Up: Raven-Symoné on The Talk; Wilson Phillips & Kelly Clarkson; Trevor Noah on Ellen

Raven-Symoné opens up about her four-song EP “33000″ and how her “Dolittle” dad, co-star Eddie Murphy inspired her. “When I did this piece of work my friends, Austin Brown, Brian London and I, we had “Dolemite” on repeat and it inspired us. I’m not signed with a label. I’m not signed with any big company, even though I work for Disney I’m not doing my music through them. This is all through friends. All through my own bank account,” she says. “I told Eddie, I’m a fan still. I know I’m your daughter, but I’m a fan.” On what influenced her return to music, Symoné says, “I’m 34 years old and you know nothing about me, really. You really don’t know anything. You know what I tell you, you’re welcome.” And adds, “There are songs that really speak about personal things. That speak about my sexuality. That speak about things that happened to me in my past.”

Carnie Wilson, Wendy Wilson and Chynna Phillips of Wilson Phillips reveal to Kelly Clarkson what it was like having famous musicians (Brian Wilson of The Beach Boys and John and Michelle Phillips of The Mamas and The Papas) as their parents. Later, the ladies take a bite of the delicious dessert Carnie personally made for Kelly the night before.

Trevor Noah told Ellen DeGeneres a hilarious story about how he trained with intense tennis coaches to play with Rafael Nadal in a doubles match against Roger Federer and Bill Gates. “The Daily Show” host also commiserated with Ellen over both of them losing to Dave Chappelle in the Best Comedy Album category at this year’s Grammys.
