Sunday Morning Man: Mark-Paul Gosselaar!
There was a time when Mark-Paul Gosselaar was so closely identified with his role as the charismatic Zach Morris on Saved By the Bell that it was difficult to imagine him as anyone else.
But Mark-Paul, 35, has ended up being one of the most successful examples in Hollywood of a child star successfully transitioning to adult roles.
He currently stars as defense attorney Jerry Kellerman on the hit TNT legal drama Raising the Bar which debuted in 2008. His real break from Zach came when he was cast as Detective John Clark on NYPD Blue in 2001 and played the role for the show’s final four seasons. He followed that up by co-starring with Geena Davis on Commander-In-Chief, a show that inexplicably only last one season.
With so much success in drama, it seems like now Mark-Paul is comfortable enough to embrace Zach Morris again. Not only did he reunite with former co-stars Mario Lopez, Elizabeth Berkley and Tiffani Thiessen for a People Magazine cover feature, he also slipped back into the character of Zach for an appearance on Jimmy Fallon’s late night show (pictured below).
I’m just glad he’s not hanging around with Sceech anymore!
