Sunday Morning Man: John Schneider!
John knocked my socks off at last fall’s AIDS Walk LA when he sang You’ll Never Walk Alone before the walkers left on their journey and later he spoke of the friends he had lost to the disease and spoke of his three close friends who had died of AIDS: “I am singing this song for Brad, for Phil and for Otis who are three wonderful, wonderful gentlemen who are no longer with us here today who happened to have been fortunate enough to pass away in the arsm of their partners who loved them dearly. But, who happened to pass away at a time when, unfortunately, society as a whole did not realize that falling in ,love with someone, committing your life to someone else, beijng tolerared by someone else, it really difficult enough without anyone trying to legislate who that someone should be.”
John is as in demand as he’s ever been. He’s kept busy on Broadway in such shows as Grand Hotel and Chicago and released nine albums of Country music.
He spent five seasons playiung Clark Kent’s dad on Smallville, has had delicious recurring roles on Nip/Tuck and Dirty Sexy Money and c0-starred on the ABC Family drama The Secret Life of the American Teenager.
At 49, it sems like John is just getting started!
